Mentorship Series
A new initiative "Bridging Paths: Navigating Academic Surgical Careers" that will introduce SOC members to the diverse paths into academic surgery.
Program Highlights
A platform where early career faculty members can share their unique experiences with navigating academic surgery with trainees.
30-Minute Structured Zoom Session with Trainees
2 minutes: introducing the faculty member
15-minutes: faculty members speaks about their journey into academic surgery
12-minutes: open discussion, questions from trainees
1-min: Closing remarks
Methodology Series
The Methodology Series is hosted by SOC, Association for Academic Surgery (AAS), and the AcademyHealth Surgical and Perioperative Care Interest Group (AH-SPIG). The series will take place quarterly at 2 pm Pacific / 3 pm Mountain / 4 pm Central / 5 pm Eastern with occasional variations depending on speaker availability. Tentative dates are included below. When possible, presentations will be made available for members within the members only platform following the session.
Spec Aim Studio
These sessions are designed to provide feedback on your specific aims page for all types of funding mechanisms. The aims page will be reviewed by senior members of the SOC with relevant expertise who will then review their feedback with you during a live session where you will have the opportunity to discuss and ask questions.
Priority will be given to early-stage investigators. The order of acceptance based on greatest need (e.g. no previous funding, career stage) combined with submission order.
