The Surgical Outcomes Club hosted a virtual meeting on February 4, 2022 featuring a panel on Predictive Analytics and Artificial Intelligence in Surgical Care. Speakers included Robert Meguid, MD, MPH, FACS; University of Colorado, Kathryn Colborn, PhD, MSPH; University of Colorado, Gabriel Brat, MD, MPH, FACS; Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Rachael Callcut, MD, MSPH, FACS; University of California Davis Health. The meeting also showcased our Michael Zinner Health Services Research Fellows. All panelist were kind enough to share their presentations to members of the Surgical Outcomes Club.

As we continue to learn and work through the pandemic, the Surgical Outcomes Club held its Seventeenth Annual Scientific Session virtually on Sunday, October 10. In case you missed it, Dr. Nancy Baxter from Melbourne School of Population and Global Health delivered a powerful keynote lecture on gender bias in surgery. This was followed by a stimulating scientific panel on de-implementation of low value care from leading experts Dr. Alex Sox-Harris from Stanford University, Dr. Louise Davies from Dartmouth Institute for Health Policy & Clinical Practice, and Dr. Scott Regenbogen from the University of Michigan. The discourse was similar to live meetings and accompanied by astute questions from the audience.

Dr. Karen Woo and Dr. Michelle Keller kicked off the Methodology Series with their talk "Using Qualitative Methods in Health Services Research".
